The PNC calls for an international investigation into the crimes of the Israeli occupation against Palestinian prisoners

PNC called on international human rights and humanitarian organizations to open an international investigation into the crimes of the Israeli occupation against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons, especially the crimes of deliberate medical negligence against prisoners, which ultimately lead to their killing.
PNC said in a press statement issued by its Speaker Mr. Saleem Al-Za’anoon this morning, that the death of the prisoner Sami Abu Diak (37 years) today, who was suffering from cancer, in the prisons of the occupation, , is a new crime against the Palestinian prisoners, and must hold the Israeli occupation leaders accountable for.
PNC called for implementing international and humanitarian conventions related to the protection of Palestinian prisoners, who are about six thousand prisoners. PNC calls for treating them as prisoners of war.
The Israeli prison authorities deliberately follow the policy of medical negligence, PNC confirmed, and refrain from providing the necessary health care for Palestinian prisoners, which is part of the Israeli policy of physical and psychological torture practiced against our hero prisoners, in order to cause their health deterioration and martyrdom.
Abu Diyak was martyred after 17 years in Israeli prisons, PNC added, including five years suffering from cancer, facing the insistence of the Israeli occupation authorities not to provide him with the necessary treatment, and refuses to release him as well, despite the full realization by the Israeli occupation that the prisoner Abu Diyak reached the final stage of the disease and a hopeless case.
It’s noteworthy that with the death of Abu Diak, the number of martyrs of the captive national movement since 1967, reached (222) martyrs, including (67) prisoners killed through the policy of deliberate medical negligence.

The Council then formed an all-Palestine government headed by Hilmi Abdel Baqi, who represented Palestine in the league of Arab States. The first national conference was held inJerusalem on 28May -2June 1964. This first National Council had 422 members, declared the establishment of the PlO, which represents the leadership of the Palestinian Arab people.
